Wake County announces 2021-22 Teacher of the Year finalists

RALEIGH
The Wake County university program has introduced its 10 finalists for the 2021-22 Teacher of the Year award.
Last week, Superintendent Cathy Moore led the district’s annual Instructor of the Calendar year Shock Patrol to individually give the information to the finalists. The winner from among the Wake’s 10,000 lecturers will be announced at a ceremony on Could 11.
The Instructor of the Calendar year finalists are:
▪ Cindy Alala, a kindergarten trainer at Willow Springs Elementary.
▪ George Barilich, a ninth-quality English trainer at Enloe Large in Raleigh.
▪ Maggie Childress, a seventh-grade English Language Arts/social studies teacher at Alston Ridge Center in Cary.
▪ Jermaine Howell, a fourth-grade teacher at Cedar Fork Elementary in Morrisville.
▪ Julia Minch, a kindergarten trainer at Sycamore Creek Elementary in Raleigh.
▪ Laurie Newhouse, a first-grade teacher at Dillard Drive Elementary in Raleigh.
▪ Caroline Olson, a specific training instructor at Broughton Higher in Raleigh.
▪ Cindi Parker, a bodily instruction trainer at Yates Mill Elementary in Raleigh.
▪ Kristen Schaible, a second-grade trainer at Buckhorn Creek Elementary in Holly Springs.
▪ Branden Sorace, a sixth-quality social studies instructor at East Millbrook Middle in Raleigh.
Each Wake County college experienced a Instructor of the Calendar year picked by its faculty. District selection committees narrowed the industry to 20 semifinalists and eventually the 10 finalists.
Wake’s winner will acquire a prize package and go on to contend in the North Carolina Teacher of the 12 months levels of competition.
