Sir Thomas Boteler instructor wins Warrington Guardian Schooling Award

JO Perkins, who joined Sir Thomas Boteler CE Significant School’s design and know-how section final September, is by now inspiring pupils and has had a beneficial effect on instructing.

Jo claimed she couldn’t consider it when she was declared as a 2022 winner of our Warrington Guardian Instruction Awards on Thursday evening.

Awards host Elaine Willcox asked her what it was like to not only be shortlisted for the award but to now win it as well.

Jo claimed: “It was a massive shock to be nominated and I am totally thrilled to win this award.

“I cannot think it seriously. It is these kinds of a pleasure and an honour to function with the outstanding young people today at Sir Thomas Boteler.”

Jo thanked her colleagues for the aid they available her all through her 1st calendar year at the DT office.

“I’d like to thank Mrs Scott-Herron for providing me the chance to perform there, I also experienced there as effectively so that has been amazing.

“And the excellent DT division – of study course, the Head of Department Mr Robinson who is my mentor and supports me all the way and presents me tips and advice. I’d also like to thank Mrs Mawby who is the professional mentor for ITT and ECTs.”

Jo included: “It is a authentic privilege to perform there. It is a great put to get the job done and I genuinely get pleasure from it.”

Elaine asked Jo: “What is so exclusive about the university and how have they embraced graphics far too?”

“With it getting a little faculty, we are like a awesome huge household. We are identified as the Boteler spouse and children – everybody describes it as that,” Jo claimed.

“We are really shut-knit. We make sure that our youthful persons are perfectly looked soon after.”

Due to the fact Jo joined, the university is likely to be presenting a new graphics GCSE solution for the very first time which she is fired up about.

It is owing to begin in September: “I am thrilled for September with providing the new program.

“Presenting Graphic Layout presents yet another dimension to the DT department, with plenty of occupation and article-16 education chances for our learners.

“There will be lots of problem-solving and cross-curricular hyperlinks.”
